Indications:

• Iron deficiency anemias

• Iron deficiency prophylaxis in pregnancy, and newborns with an iron-deficient mother



Side effects:

• Nausea

Cautions:

• Hypersensitivity to the iron or other drug contents.

• Anemia not related to iron deficiency.

• Drinking a large amount of tea.

Ampoules are drunk after dilution in sweetened water or not, or in any other soft drink.

Take preferably the ampoule before meals but sometimes the time of the intake and the dosage must be adapted according to digestive tolerance.

Curative treatment: The recommended dose is 100 to 200 mg of metal iron per day or 2 to 4 ampoules of Tothema®.

Preventive treatment Pregnant women: The recommended dose is 50 mg of metal iron per day or 1 ampoule of Tothema® during the last two-quarters of pregnancy (or from the 4th month).

Duration of treatment: 3 to 6 months, but maybe prolonged further if the cause of anemia is not controlled.
