Olmesartan + Hydrochlorothiazide
Olmesartan medoxomil is one of a group of medicines called angiotensin II-receptor antagonists.
While Hydrochlorothiazide is one of a group of medicines called thiazide diuretics.
The two active substances in Olmesartan/hydrochlorothiazide help to lower blood pressure more than if either of them was given alone.

Side effects:

• Dizziness.

• Headache.

• GIT disturbance.

• Flu-like symptoms.

• Increased fat, uric acid, potassium, and calcium.

• Increase liver and kidney function.

• Decreased or loss of appetite.

• Electrolyte disturbance.

• Dryness.



Warning and Precautions:

Tell the doctor if you have:

• Hypersensitivity to Olmesartan medoxomil or hydrochlorothiazide, or any of the other ingredients.

• Kidney and liver problems.

• Diabetes.

• Low potassium, sodium, high calcium, or high uric acid levels.

• Heart disease.

• Severe vomiting or Diarrhea for several days.

• Adrenal glands problems.

• Cancer.

• Pregnancy and breastfeeding.



Interactions:

• Other blood pressure-lowering medicines.

• Lithium.

• Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines.

• Sleeping tablets, sedatives, and anti-depressant medicines.

• Medicines for lowering blood fat levels.

• Colesevelam hydrochloride.

• Anticholinergic agents, such as atropine and biperiden.

• Drugs used to treat certain psychiatric disorders.

• Certain medicines are used to treat heart problems.

• Oral anti-diabetic medicines, such as metformin, or insulin

• Noradrenaline.

• Probenecid, sulfinpyrazone and allopurinol.

• Calcium supplements.

• Amantadine.

• Ciclosporin.

• Antibiotics are called tetracyclines or sparfloxacin.

• Amphotericin.

• Certain antacids.

• Cisapride.
