Side Effects:
Aldara cream may cause side effects:
• Redness, swelling, itching, burning, pain, thinning or thickening and hardening of the skin, peeling, or leakage of clear fluid.
• Changes in skin color may occur and may not go away. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
• If the skin reaction is severe (bleeding, blistering, blisters, ulcers), the medication may need to be stopped temporarily until the skin can heal.
Warnings and Cautions:
• Aldara is not recommended for use in patients under the age of 18 years as there have been no studies of its effects in this age group.
• Tell your doctor if you have problems with your immune system.
• Do not use Aldara cream until the area to be treated has healed after the previous drug or surgical treatment.
• Do not cover the treated area with bandages or other dressings after you have applied Aldara cream.
• Because of the way Aldara works, there is a possibility that the cream may worsen existing inflammation in the treatment area.

Apply Aldara cream before normal bedtime hours and leave it on the skin for about 8 hours; Then wash with mild soap and water.
Non-occlusive dressings such as cotton gauze/underwear can be used to manage skin reactions.
