Zyloric is a medication containing the active ingredient Allopurinol primarily used to treat and prevent gout, gouty arthritis, and to prevent kidney stone formation.
Allopurinol works by inhibiting the enzyme xanthine oxidase, which contributes to the formation of uric acid, thus preventing gout attacks and kidney stone formation.

Cautions:

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking your medicine if:

• If you have liver or kidney issues. Your doctor might adjust your dosage or frequency of intake, and closely monitor your condition.

• If you suffer from heart problems or hypertension and are taking diuretics or ACE inhibitors.

• If you are experiencing a gout attack at the moment.

• If you have thyroid problems.
